What is your role in R&D?
I am responsible for synthesis of lead compounds and studies of synthesis for clinical trials.
Is it essential for you to concentrate samples during compound synthesis?
Yes. We always use organic solvents vital for compound synthesis and preparation. When we want to keep samples in dry condition, concentrating process is inevitable. In fact, because we use various types of solvents, it has been difficult to concentrate all of them with rotary evaporator only.
What is the problem of rotary evaporator?
When concentrating high-boiling temperature solvents such as DMSO and DMF, I could not concentrate samples at all with rotary evaporators. In addition, it was tedious and difficult to remove solvents from samples through extraction and columns when analyzing micro volume impurities.
Now, I understood the reason why you decided to use Smart Evaporator. What is your impression with it?
I am really happy to be able to concentrate samples in DMSO and DMF. Before using this, I had to repeat the same synthesizing process. Now, I can save a few days. It is a real shortcut for me!

For example, I really appreciate for shortcuts of processes such as a compound synthesis requiring multiple steps and reaction taking a few days.
