Today we had an interview with Dr.I who has purchased the Smart Evaporator C1,
and tried to find out how she decided to purchase the C1.
(Dr. I works on the material chemistry research in the university “C”.)

BioChromatoThank you very much for this opportunity today.
Dr.IThank you, too.
BioChromatoSo what research areas are you working on?
Dr.IOur theme is surface chemistry, and we work to approach both from chemistry and physics.
BioChromatoHow do you use our device in your research?
Dr.IOne of the subjected research materials is the surfactant solution, and we use your device for evaporating surfactant solutions.
BioChromatoSo may I ask you what sort of impressions did you have when you’d just started using this?
Dr.IWe are working with the simple synthesis, but have to work with quantity. Even the students who are not used to organic synthesis can readily use the Smart Evaporator, and this simple operability brings the stable evaporation result.
BioChromatoSo many of them found it easy to use our device. How was the situation in the past?So many of them found it easy to use our device. How was the situation in the past?
Dr.ISome students used to share one rotary evaporator at my lab.  The surfactant solution intricately differs in its condition depending on the density of solution, so it was difficult to simplify the evaporation process, and we used to have the wide result variation in each student. For example, one of the issues was bumping because the sample viscosity is likely to increase drastically during evaporation. Also we had to transfer the samples from egg-plant shaped flasks to 50ml vials for storage.
BioChromatoI see. So now you have no bumping and the high sample recovery without sample transfer. Do these help your lab work?
Dr.IAbsolutely. The Smart Evaporator is able to concentrate the surfactant solutions even those with high viscosity, and anyone can operate in a short time effectively.
BioChromatoI’m honored to hear such good evaluation. How often do you use the Smart Evaporator?
Dr.IFor some case, we use that for the whole day, but not every day. For the certain period of time we focus on making evaporated samples with the Smart Evaporator.
BioChromatoMost of your research theme is actually inorganic. How do you find the demand of the Smart Evaporator’s principal in inorganic chemistry?
Dr.ISo far I use the Smart Evaporator for only organic synthesis, but I believe this can be useful for evaporating inorganic nano materials. I assume I can evaporate those unstable nano samples without adding heat in a short time.
BioChromatoI appreciate for your feedbacks. I hope the Smart Evaporator also contributes to inorganic research areas. That’s all for today, and we thank you very much for your corporation.?

Summary

Dr. I feels advantage that the Smart Evaporator enables to evaporate high viscous sample like surfactant solution, and also she appreciates its simple operation so that any students can use it no matter how much they are experienced.  So we hope the freshmen would also be pleased to use the Smart Evaporator.  If you have troubles with high viscous samples and never try our Smart Evaporator yet, please feel free to contact us.
